Interior design in Mallorca

Mallorca is one of the two places the studio was built around. Nerea works in Spanish, so briefing, drawings and coordination with island contractors, makers and stone suppliers happen directly rather than through a translator or an intermediary.

Houses here are shaped by light and heat more than by plan alone: deep reveals, shaded terraces, thick walls and the movement between inside and out. Nara’s Mallorcan work starts from that — where the openings sit, how a room is shaded through the day, and which materials hold up under strong sun and salt air. Warm plaster, honed travertine, walnut and linen recur because they behave well in that climate, not as a style.

Son Vida House is the studio’s Mallorcan study: a contemporary Mediterranean interior arranged as one continuous sequence from living room to terrace, bedroom and bathroom.

Many owners are not on the island year-round. Design development, material decisions and specification can be handled remotely, with site visits at the points in the programme that genuinely require them.
