Interior design in Ibiza

Ibizan houses have a strong vernacular of their own — white lime plaster, flat roofs carried on timber beams, dry-stone walls, courtyards and shaded pergolas — and the most convincing interiors on the island work with it rather than against it.

Nara’s approach here is restraint: keep the plaster, the stone and the beams doing the work, plan the house around its shaded outdoor rooms, and let the olive landscape sit in every opening. Materials are chosen for how they age in that climate.

Casa Oliva is the studio’s Ibizan study, arranged around a pool courtyard shaded by timber pergolas, with the same restraint carried into the courtyards, bedroom and bathroom.

Nerea works in Spanish, and design development and specification can be run remotely for owners who are not on the island year-round.
