Our commitment
Nara Interiors wants this site to be usable by as many people as possible, including people using a screen reader, navigating by keyboard, zooming the page, or browsing with reduced motion or a high-contrast setting.
How this site is built
- Every page renders and is fully navigable with JavaScript switched off.
- There is a skip link to the main content, and a single H1 per page with a logical heading order below it.
- All interactive elements are reachable and operable by keyboard, and show a visible focus outline.
- Body text and metadata meet WCAG 2.2 AA contrast against the stone background.
- Every image carries alt text describing what is actually in it, and alt text is translated on the Spanish pages.
- Images declare their dimensions so the page does not shift as they load.
- Animation is limited to a gentle reveal, and is disabled entirely for anyone whose system requests reduced motion.
- Form fields have real labels, errors are announced, and the error summary moves focus to the first field that needs attention.
- The site works at 320px width and at 200% zoom without horizontal scrolling.
Conformance
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.2 at level AA. This site has been tested with automated checks and by keyboard, at mobile, tablet and desktop widths. It has not yet been audited by an independent accessibility specialist or tested with every assistive technology, so we describe it as partially conformant: most of the site meets AA, but we cannot yet claim full conformance.
Known limitations
- The two typefaces are served by Google Fonts. If that request is slow or blocked, text falls back to Georgia and a system sans-serif — readable, but not identical.
- Some portfolio images carry long, detailed alt text. This is deliberate — the images are the substance of the work — but it does make those pages longer to listen through.
- Portfolio images have the browser context menu suppressed on the image itself as a copyright deterrent. This does not affect keyboard use, screen readers, or the context menu anywhere else on the page.
